Atlantic 10 Release
Bronx, NY (March 20, 2014) – Fordham University sophomore
Steve Sholdra (Renton, Wash./H.B. Education (Wash.)) was recognized for his athletic and academic accomplishments by being named 2014 Atlantic 10 Academic All-Conference for men's swimming and diving in a vote by the conference's Sports Information Directors. It is the 13th time over the past 14 years that Fordham had at least one student-athlete named to the Atlantic 10 Academic All-Conference team, the most recent
Devon Morris in 2012.
Sholdra, an International Political Economy major with a 3.63 GPA major, finished fifth in the 1650-yd freestyle at the 2014 A-10 Championships. He also scored in the 500 freestyle (seventh) and 400 IM (tenth) and A-10s and was a member of the 800 freestyle relay that placed seventh.
On the season, Sholdra recorded Fordham's fastest 500 and 1000 freestyle time in 2013-2014.
Last summer he competed in the 2013 USA Swimming Open Water National Championships, taking 15
th in the 5K and 17
th in the 10K
