Geneva, Ohio (February 21, 2014) – It was a very productive day three at the 2014 Atlantic 10 women's swimming and diving championships for Fordham, with the Rams winning an event and setting a school record in another at the SPIRE Institute.

After three days of competition, the Fordham women sit in second place in the team standings. Three-time defending champions Richmond lead the team competition with 434.5 points with Fordham in second with 318. Massachusetts is third with 289 points followed by George Mason (281), Duquesne (261.5), Rhode Island (216), La Salle (198), George Washington (171.5), St. Bonaventure (168) and Saint Louis (101.5).

Morgan Fairclough became the first event winner for the Rams at this year's championship, taking first in the 100 backstroke in a season-best time of 55.73 to earn First Team All-Conference accolades.

The women's 400 medley relay of Fairclough,
Kelly Carroll,
Megan Polaha and
Chandler Lulley earned Second Team All-Atlantic 10 honors with a second place finish in a season-best time of 3:44.26.

Megan Polaha got things started for the Fordham women on day three in the 400 IM finals, taking fourth in a school record time of 4:19.72, breaking the former school mark of 4:21.04 set by Courtney Collyer in 2001.

Prior to that race,
Megan Gehrich placed third in 4:27.84 in the 400 IM B finals.

Also setting a record for the Rams was
Kelly Carroll, who broke her own 100 breaststroke school record with a 1:03.42 clocking in the preliminaries. She returned to take third in the finals in 1:03.63, while
Victoria McGovern was right behind her, placing fifth in 1:03.91.

Shannon Jones and
Shannon Lulley raced in the 100 fly finals with Lulley placing fourth in a season-best time of 55.58 and Jones taking eighth in 56.41 while
Jordan Tomimatsu competed in the 100 back finals, taking fourth in 56.11.

Anna Marshall swam in the 100 breaststroke B finals, finishing sixth in 1:05.89, while in the B finals of the 200 free,
Kara Field placed second for the Rams in a season-best time of 1:51.19 and Kalen Laurent took fifth in 1:51.63.

In the 100 back B finals
Theresa Goehring was seventh in a time of 57.29 while
Chandler Lulley just missed out making the 100 back B finals cut by 0.01 seconds in preliminaries.

The 2014 Atlantic 10 swimming and diving championships will continue with preliminary races on Saturday morning beginning at 10:30 AM.
