Fordham Men Sixth After Day 2 of Atlantic 10 Swimming & Diving Championships

Shintaro Noguchi fifth in 50 free

Results

Geneva, Ohio (February 20, 2014) – Day two of the 2014 Atlantic 10 Swimming and Diving championships have concluded at the SPIRE Institute with the Fordham men sitting in sixth place.
 
Massachusetts is in the lead after two days with 243 points followed by St. Bonaventure (242), George Mason (178), La Salle University (172), George Washington (142), Fordham (133) and Saint Louis (128).

Steve Sholdra got things started for the Rams with a seventh place showing the 500 free finals in 4:32.89.
 
In the 50 free finals, Shintaro Noguchi finished fifth in a season-best time of 20.61 while Thomas Shetler won the B finals in 20.70 with teammate Joe Mercurio right behind him in second place in 20.78.
 
Noguchi, Shetler, Patrick Militti and Mercurio teamed up to race in the 200 free relay, taking fourth in a season-best time of 1:21.82.
 
The 2014 Atlantic 10 swimming and diving championships will continue with preliminary races on Friday morning beginning at 10:30 AM.
