Following her first season at the helm of the Fordham Volleyball program, Head Coach
Gini Ullery has announced an addition to the squad for 2014.
Sarah Skelton (El Paso, Texas/Eastwood) will suit up for the Rams this fall, helping to build a program that showed promise in 2013.
Skelton, a four-year player under Aaron Bejak at Eastwood, comes to the Rams following a stellar high school career. After earning District Newcomer of the Year honors as a freshman, Skelton was named First Team All-District in each of the following three seasons, establishing herself as one of the premiere players in the area.
Skelton has already arrived on campus, participating in offseason workouts with the team that will look to replace a ton of veteran talent heading into the fall.
Aside from being an outstanding athlete in her own right, Sarah is the latest in a line of Skelton greats to grace the athletic fields of Fordham. Her oldest brother John quarterbacked the Rams from 2006-2009 and became the first Fordham player selected in the NFL Draft since 1968. Taken in the fifth round (155
th overall) Skelton played in 20 games over three seasons with the Cardinals, making 17 starts. Stephen Skelton was also a football standout on Jack Coffey Field, serving as one of the Patriot League's top receivers from 2007-2010. Stephen has also seen time on multiple NFL practice squads.
