Just a day after being named the USTFCCCA Division I National Athlete of the Week, Fordham junior
Quincy O'Connor was selected as the Atlantic 10's Men's Cross Country Performer of the Week. In addition, freshman
Thomas Slattery was named the league's Rookie of the Week for cross country.
The Atlantic 10 Performer of the Week award for O'Connor was his second of the season, having also won the award on September 30
th, while it is the first conference honor for Slattery, and second overall.
Slattery was the ECAC Co-Rookie of the Week for September 25
th.
Both runners were instrumental in Fordham winning the Metropolitan Championship for the first time since 1964.
O'Connor won the race in a time of 25:51, becoming the second Ram in the last four seasons to bring home the individual title. The other winner was Julian Saad in 2011.
Slattery finished just two spots behind O'Connor in third place, clocking in at 26:15.
