Shintaro Noguchi (Tiburon, Calif./Redwood) was named Atlantic 10 Men's Swimming & Diving Performer of the Week on Tuesday by the league office. It is Noguchi's first weekly award of the season and the sixth time he has been named performer of the week in his career.
In two meets this past weekend, Noguchi won four individual events against Iona and Atlantic 10 foe La Salle. Against Iona, Noguchi recorded first-place finishes in the 50-yard freestyle (21.37) and the 200-yard butterfly (1:57.66) along with being a part of the 200-yard medley relay team that also finished first with a time of 3:36.76.
Against the Explorers, he captured titles in the 100-yard freestyle (46.57) and the 100-yard butterfly (50.34) while finishing second in the 200-yard freestyle (1:43.15).
Noguchi and the rest of the Rams are back in action on Saturday, January 25
th, when the Rams travel to Piscataway, New Jersey for a quad meet with Yale (men), Rider, and Rutgers (women).
