The Fordham University football Rams, ranked 16th in the NCAA FCS, continue their 2013 season by traveling to Loretto, Pennsylvania, to face the Saint Francis University Red Flash on DeGol Field on Saturday, September 28, at 12:00 p.m.

The Fordham coaching staff will also be supporting Coach to Cure MD at the game by wearing special arm bands to draw attention to the worthwhile cause. Fordham fans can donate $5 by texting CURE to 90999 or donate at www.CoachtoCureMD.org.

The game will be broadcast live on the internet on Watch and on WFUV.org with D.J. Sixsmith and Chris Marasco handling the announcing chores and Anthony Pucik on the sidelines.

The Rams (4-0) enter the game after a 52-7 Liberty Cup win over Columbia University last Saturday on Jack Coffey Field, while Saint Francis (1-2) enters the contest after defeating Lincoln University, 38-7, at home last Saturday.

The Rams will be led into the game by junior quarterback Mike Nebrich, who has completed 98 of 134 passes for 1,124 yards and nine touchdowns this year and he has also rushed 62 times for 247 yards and three scores. Last week, he completed 32 of 38 passes for 346 yards, all career-highs, and two touchdowns while also rushing for 85 yards.

Carlton Koonce
Also leading the offense is senior running back Carlton Koonce, who leads the Patriot League and is tenth in the NCAA FCS in rushing yards/game (124.8). He gained 158 yards on 27 carries with two touchdowns last week, his second straight 100-yard rushing game of the season.

Defensively, senior defensive back Ian Williams, the Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week, who led the Rams last Saturday with six solo tackles, including a pair of sacks. He also broke up two passes, forced a fumble, which led to a Fordham touchdown when the Rams recovered the ball in the end zone, and had a quarterback hurry.

This will be the second meeting between Fordham and Saint Francis on the gridiron. The Rams took the first meeting, 41-0, in 1948, at Johnstown Memorial Stadium.

About Coach to Cure MD
Coach To Cure MD is a partnership between the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA), a professional organization for over 10,000 college football coaches and staff, and Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy (PPMD), the largest national charity devoted exclusively to Duchenne muscular dystrophy.

In 2008 the AFCA adopted PPMD's Coach To Cure MD program as one of their charity efforts. One reason the AFCA was drawn to Coach To Cure MD was because of the unique parallels between Duchenne, a disorder which robs young men of precious muscle strength and college football, a game where young men are at the peak of their muscle strength.

The goals of Coach To Cure MD are simple:
Raise national awareness of the disorder
Raise money to fund research for a cure

Our approach to reaching these goals is also simple:
One football Saturday of each season (this year it is on September 28, 2013) AFCA coaches nationwide agree to promote Coach To Cure MD. By wearing armbands, mentioning Coach To Cure MD during on and off-field interviews, and in some instances doing even more extensive media relations around the date, coaches are rolling up their sleeves and proudly getting involved.
