SERIES HISTORY AGAINST PRINCETON: This is the first ever meeting between Fordham and Princeton. The Rams are 1-3-0 all-time against Ivy League opponents, with the only win coming against Cornell in 2011.
LAST TIME OUT: The Fordham women's soccer team finished up a three-game road stretch on Friday at Providence, where the Rams and Friars played to a 2-2 tie at Glay Field.
Â
With the tie, Fordham is 2-4-2 on the year, while Providence is now 3-2-3.
Â
Fordham opened the scoring in the 27th minute, as Nicol Natale dribbled through the Providence defense and beat goalkeeper Kristyn Shea to the lower left corner for her second goal of the season.
Â
The score remained that way until the second half, when Providence netted an early goal to tie the game. Allison Walton finished off a Kathryn Hiller cross from the right side for her second goal of the year.
Â
The Friars then jumped ahead for the first time in the 65th minute. Off an Amanda Webster corner kick, Alexia Shea headed in a Hiller flick for her first goal of the season.
Â
Fordham would respond just 4:16 later off its own corner kick. Victoria Camaj took the corner for Fordham, which was headed in by Kaitlyn Carballeira for her first tally of the season.
Â
Neither team could find the decisive marker as the game ended in a 2-2 tie. In net, Fordham's Ally White made five saves, while Shea had three for the Friars.
WHO'S NEXT: The Fordham women's soccer team stays at home this weekend to open Atlantic 10 play on Sunday, September 29th against Rhode Island, beginning at 1:00 PM, as the first half of a soccer doubleheader.
