Centerville, Mass. -
The Eastern College Athletic Conference announced the 2013 Division I Softball All-Star teams today, as Fordham senior Jamie LaBovick added one more accolade to an outstanding season being named to the ECAC First Team, marking the fourth straight season that Fordham has had an ECAC All-Star selection.
LaBovick was one of four Atlantic 10 players honored by the ECAC, along with Temple's Stephanie Pasquale (First Team/Player of the Year) and Sarah Prezioso (First Team) and Saint Joseph's Dana Parks (Second Team).
LaBovick had an incredible final season at Fordham in 2013. She was named First Team NFCA All-Mid-Atlantic Region, First Team All-Atlantic 10 and also earned a spot on the Atlantic 10 All-Tournament Team, leading Fordham to its second Atlantic 10 Championship in the last three years, and third NCAA appearance in the last four seasons.
LaBovick broke the Fordham single-season hit record with 87 and batted .408 on the season, good enough for second in the single-season record book and 48th nationally. During the season, she recorded a 28-game hit streak, the longest such tear in Atlantic 10 or Fordham history, and was one of the toughest players in the nation to strike out, ranking seventh in that category, having struck out just six times in 213 at bats. She also led the Rams with 16 doubles to go with 52 runs scored, six home runs, and 27 RBI.
LaBovick finished her career as one of the most prolific offensive players in program history, earning All-Atlantic 10 honors in each of her four seasons at Fordham, while ranking in the top ten at Rose Hill in career batting average (.323), hits (256), at bats (793), runs (160), doubles (48), home runs (21), total bases (369), and games played (237).
