May 17, 2013 - Bronx, N.Y. - It was the last game of the season and the final career game for nine Fordham University seniors baseball players and acting head coach Jimmy Jackson did his best to get all nine playing time, managing to see eight of the seniors take the field, as the Rams fell to St. Bonaventure University, 9-1, at Houlihan Park.

With the loss, Fordham closes out the 2013 campaign with a 22-33 overall record, 8-16 in the Atlantic 10, while the Bonnies wrap up their season with a 20-28 overall record, 9-15 in the conference.

Seniors Jeremy Adel, Rich Anastasi, Joseph Conway, Ryan DeMartino, Ryan Fedak, Mike Mauri, Ryan Lee and Dan Sorine all appeared in the Maroon and White for the final time of their career today with the lone senior not to appear being Joseph Charest, yesterday's game one starter for the Rams. But the seniors couldn't pick up a win in their career final as St. Bonaventure used two big innings en route to the 9-1 win.

The Rams jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first as Joseph Runco opened the frame with a single on the first pitch he saw from St. Bonaventure starter Asa Johnson. Runco then stole second and took third when the throw from Bonnies catcher Nick Lohrer went out to center. Mauri then plated Runco with a single through the left side.

The Bonnies took the lead for good with a four-run third. Lohrer walked to open the inning and Michael Meredith hit a slow bouncer down the third base line that Fordham third baseman Ian Edmiston couldn't handle and his throw to first went wide, putting runners on second and third. Jonathan Diaz brought in Lohrer with a ground out and Meredith scored on an Eric Jutca sacrifice fly. Jason Radwan then hit a triple and came in to score on a Joel Rosencrance single. Rosencrance scored later in the inning on an Austin Ingraham single.

The Rams had a chance to push a run across in the home half of the third when Mauri and Lee hit consecutive one-out singles, putting runners on the corners. But Johnson got Charles Galiano to ground into a double play to end the threat.

St. Bonaventure put the game away with a five-run sixth, capped by a three-run Rosencrance home run.

Mauri and Lee each banged out two hits for the Rams in their final game.

Notes
Jackson was coaching in place of head coach Kevin Leighton, who was at the hospital with his wife, expecting the delivery of their third child... Fordham Fan Freddy Negron threw out the first pitch... The stands were full of students from nearby PS 205 and MS 254.
