Bronx, N.Y. - As the 2012-2013 season begins to wind down, the Fordham University Athletic Department held its 79th annual Block F Awards Dinner at the Villa Barone Manor on May 1 to honor Fordham University's student-athletes for their accomplishments during the academic year.

Among those honored was sophomore Sarah Ali (Pasadena, Calif./Crescenta Valley) who was named the 2012-2013 Women's Tennis MVP.

Ali posted 12 wins, playing at the #2 position, while recording a 10-5 record at the #1 doubles position. Her play enabled Fordham to advance to the quarterfinals of the Atlantic 10 championship for the first time since 2005.
