April 6, 2013 - Bronx, N.Y. - The Fordham University men's tennis squad hosted Xavier University on the Hawthorn/Rooney Courts today and was shut out by the Musketeers, 7-0.

The Rams opened the match dropping the doubles point, losing all three doubles matches. Srikar Alla and J.J. Tauil were defeated by Mesa Mei and Jimmy Roebker at first doubles, 8-6, while Matty Najfeld and Max Peara dropped second doubles to Patrick Bandy and Philip Diaz, 8-7 (7-3), and Alex DeRienzo and Michael Puntillo were upended by Adam Krull and Zach Mueck at the third spot, 8-0.

Fordham then lost all six singles matches in straight sets with Alla losing at first singles to Jimmy Roebker, 6-2, 6-2. Najfeld falling to Mei, 7-5, 6-2, Tauil dropping the third spot to Zach Mueck, 6-4, 6-3, Peara losing to Brandon MacDonald, 6-0, 6-2, Jan Krouham falling at the fifth position to Krull, 6-1, 6-2, and DeRienzo dropping sixth singles Michael Moe, 6-0, 6-1.

The Rams will return to action on Sunday, April 7, as they host Bryant University on the Hawthorn/Rooney Courts at 3:00 PM.
