Fordham freshman swimmer Natalie Malicki (Trabuco Canyon, Calif./Trabuco Hills) earned her first career weekly award on Tuesday, as the conference office named her Atlantic 10 Women's Swimming & Diving Rookie of the Week for competition from December 2-8.
 
Malicki was the lone dual event winner in Fordham's 155-90 victory over Manhattan College this past Wednesday.  She captured first place in both the 200-yard freestyle (1:59.55) and the 500-yard freestyle (5:12.63) events.  Her time in the 500 freestyle was her personal-best of the season.
 
Malicki joins Megan Polaha as recipients of Atlantic 10 weekly honors this season. Polaha has earned Performer of the Week once and Rookie of the Week once.
 
The Fordham swimming & diving team is now off for winter break and return to the pool on January 17^th at Iona.
