Anisa Arsenault being named Atlantic 10 Men's and Women's Cross Country Performer of the Week, respectively, and freshmen
Adam Schwenzfeier and
Brianne Roche earning Men's and Women's Rookie of the Week honors it was announced on Tuesday for meets ran from October 7-13. It is the first weekly award of the year for each of the student-athletes.
The Rams hosted the 2013 Metropolitan Championships last Saturday at Van Cortlandt Park where the men's team placed third of eleven teams and the women were fourth of 12 teams.
Turi, a sophomore, was the first Fordham male across the line, finishing ninth overall with a season-best time of 26:30.48, while Schwenzfeier, a freshman, recorded a 24
th place finish for the Rams with a time of 27:00.87 out of 117 runners. The Rams placed six runners among the top 30 finishers.
Arsenault, a senior, paced the women's squad with a third place finish, covering the 5K course in a season-best time of 18:29.38, while Roche, a freshman, was the top freshman finisher for the Rams, placing 36
th overall in a time of 20:01.78.
The Fordham cross country squad will next be in action on Saturday, October 19, as they travel to Princeton, N.J., to compete in the Princeton Invitational at 10:00 a.m.
