Dec. 1, 2012 - Bronx, N.Y. - The Fordham squash team looked to go into winter break on a good note, as the Rams hosted the University of Virginia on Saturday at the Lombardi Squash Courts. However, the Cavaliers had other ideas, posting a 9-0 win over Fordham.
The loss puts Fordham's record at 2-6.
The Rams fell in straight sets in five of the nine slots, with one going the distance. Fordham's Marcus Stromsmo came back on two occasions from a set down to pull even, but eventually fell to Virginia's Robert Patterson, 11-0, 8-11, 11-3, 8-11, and 11-6.
Fordham's Jack O'Brien (2nd), Alex Williams (4th), and Raymond Chen (5th) were each able to take a set in their matches, but fell in four to Matt Brown, Noel Flemmer and Zach Starsia, respectively.
The Fordham squash team will next be in action on January 12th, when the Rams host Navy at 2:00 PM.
