Brookville, N.Y. - (Sept. 18, 2010) - The Fordham University men's and women's cross country teams competed at the 2010 C.W. Post Invitational with each team winning the team title as well as having the top individual runner. Brian Riley won the men's race for the Rams while Kerri Gallagher won her second straight race for the women.
The Fordham men won with a team score of 23, 40 points ahead of C.W. Post. Molloy placed third with 90 points followed by Dowling (93) and St. Thomas Aquinas (118).
On the women's side, Fordham won with a team score of 37, one point better than St. John's. C.W. Post placed third (122) followed by St. Thomas Aquinas (133) and Dowling (139).
In the men's 8K race, Riley was first across the line in a time of 25:52.39, over 26 seconds ahead of runner-up Nicholas Fillipazzo of Molloy. Brian Walter was the second Ram finisher, placing third in a time of 26:29.80. Casey Barrett took fifth overall for Fordham (26:47.39) with Nick Synan right behind him in sixth place (26:48.97). Patrick McDonough was the fifth scorer for Fordham, placing eighth (26:54.77).
For the woman, Gallagher, who won last week's Fordham Fiasco, took first in the 5K race a time of 18:40.44, just 0.25 seconds ahead of teammate Anisa Arsenault. Kerry Sorenson was the third Rams across the line, taking seventh in a time of 19:51.05. Nako Nakatsuka and Diane Bain were the other two scorers for Fordham, placing 12th (20:13.28) and 15th (20:21.60), respectively.
Other competitors for the men included Thomas Kelly (9th - 26:56.16), Kevin Harvey (10th - 26:58.84), Matt Collins (17th - 27:15.95), Rich Grandelli (20th - 27:19.74), James Doran (24th - 27:40.56), Andrew Roddin (25th - 27:41.21), Patrick Burke (26th - 27:41.67), Joseph Hartnett (31st - 28:11.18), Conor O'Malley (35th - 28:27.53), Michael Walsh (36th - 28:31.91), Brian Schmidt (37th - 28:35.02), Devin Kelly (39th - 28:42.60), Tim Hutchinson (41st - 28:53.87), Benjamin Delikat (42nd - 28:57.68), Christopher Chung (44th - 28:59.19), Jarrett Anistranski (49th - 29:20.85), Stephen Donnelly (52nd - 29:26.32), Michael Rossi (55th - 29:48.85), Ian Powell (58th - 29:55.31) and John Cosgrove (62nd - 30:22.61).

The men's and women's cross country teams will next be in action on Saturday, September 25th, as they compete in the Leeber Invitational in Fairfield, Conn., beginning at 11:00 AM.
