Buffalo, N.Y. - (Feb. 17, 2010) - Day one of the 2010 Atlantic 10 Swimming & Diving Championship, held at the Flickinger Center in Buffalo, N.Y., is in the books, and the Fordham men's teams is in sixth place out of eight teams.
Massachusetts sits atop the men's standings with 149 points after three events, followed by St. Bonaventure (87) and Duquesne (74). Rounding up the scoring are St. Louis (72), La Salle (72), Fordham (64), Xavier (58) and George Washington (48).
The men's team opened with a fourth place finish in the 200 medley relay, as Billy Colton, Michael DiDonato, Ryan Coombs and Justin Coombs, came home in a season-best time of 1:32.16.
The Rams then finished eighth overall in the 800 freestyle relay, as Eric Prendergast, Devon Morris, Thomas Yi, and Robert Gitman, ended with a season-best time of 6:56.51.
The men's one-meter diving competition was the final event of the day, as Benjamin Otto placed ninth with a score of 221.75, while Tim Landau-Smith was 14th with a score of 145.25.
Day two competition at the Flickinger Center in Buffalo, New York begins at 10:30 AM on Thursday with preliminary heats in the 500 freestyle, 200 individual medley, 50 freestyle, and the women's one meter diving competition.
