Bronx, N.Y. - (Jan. 22, 2010) - The Fordham women's swimming & diving team returned to action on Friday night at the Col. Francis B. Messmore Aquatic Center, as the Rams toppled the C.W. Post Pioneers, 136-59, to move to 9-0 on the season.
The highlight of the evening came in the three-meter dive, as sophomore Andrea Krok broke her own school record with a score of 283.39. Her previous record was 281.55, set last year.
In addition to Krok, the Rams won nine other events on the night. Senior Caitlin Napoli won the 200 individual medley in 2:11.23 with sophomore Kelly Bunster taking the 50 freestyle in 24.62 seconds. Both Napoli and Bunster joined junior Christina Cosentino and senior Nicole Marshall on the 400 medley relay, which won in a time of 3:56.49.
Freshman Brienne Ryan took home first in the 200 freestyle in 1:54.52, while fellow freshman Lara Moseley won the 100 freestyle in 54.59 seconds. Sophomore Courtney Collyer closed out the freestyle wins in the 500 event, winning in 5:10.10.
Finishing out the event winners, junior Megan McGorry took first in the 200 butterfly in 2:10.25, freshman Tracy Karpinski won the 200 backstroke in 2:11.89, and sophomore Elizabeth Dorger won the one meter dive with a score of 259.65.
The Fordham swimming & diving team will next be in action on Saturday, January 23rd, as the teams travel to Philadelphia for a match-up at La Salle, beginning at 1:00 PM.
