Boston, Mass. - (Jan. 27, 2008) - The Fordham squash team broke a seven-game losing streak with a 7-2 win over MIT in Boston on Saturday.
Fordham won the second and third flights as well as the fifth through ninth flights.
At the second flight, Mike Hennessy won by a 3-1 count over Saad Zaheer, winning the first game, 9-1, before dropping the second, 9-3. Hennessy then won the match by taking games three and four by scores of 9-2 and 9-4.
Steve Sangiacomo took the third spot for Fordham, defeating George Pratt in straight games, 9-4, 9-4 and 9-0.
The Rams also won by 3-0 scores in the fifth through ninth flights with Charles Kromholz winning over John Kucharczk at the fifth spot, Brandon Abbatiello taking the sixth position over Joey DeRosa, Peter Slucky victorious at the seventh spot over Pawan Deedwaniya, Tolga Sulver winning at the eighth flight over Jon Schecter and James Lechleitner taking the ninth spot from Steve Howland.
The Fordham squash team will next be in action on Saturday, February 2nd as they host Columbia in the Lombardi Center at 2:00 PM.
