Bronx, N.Y. - (May 3, 2007) - The 73rd annual Block F Awards dinner was held last night at the Villa Barone Manor, honoring Fordham University's student-athletes for their accomplishments in the 2006-07 academic year.
Among those honored was Sebastian Cahill (Atlanta, Ga./St. Pius X) who was named Most Valuable Player of the squash team. Cahill, a senior, took over as team captain this season, and held down the #1 position all season long, recording a pair of singles' wins.
The Rams closed out the 2006-07 season with a 6-10 overall record.
In addition to Cahill, senior Peter Zipf (Whitestone, NY/Holy Cross) was also recognized for his academic achievement, receiving Athlete Academic Achievement award, which is given to seniors with a 3.5 overall GPA.
