(February 27, 2005) - The Fordham Squash team participated in the CSA Men's National Tournament held at Harvard University over the weekend where they finished in fifth place in the Chaffee Cup.

The Rams opened play with a tough 5-4 loss to Utah and then fell to Colgate, 7-2. In the final game of the weekend, Fordham easily defeated Northeastern, 8-1, to take home the fifth place finish.

In the Utah loss, Phil Bednarczyk won at the #1 slot, 3-1, while Ryan McFarland took the #5 slot, 3-0. Steve Cinquino (#7) and Pat Lewis (#9) were also victorious for the Rams, both by a 3-0 score.  The Rams came close to winning the match as three of their five losses were by 3-2 scores.

In the Colgate loss, Bednarczyk was again a winner at the #1 slot by a 3-0 score while Will Hayes won the #2 position, 3-2.

In the win over Northeastern, Bednarczyk made it a clean sweep at nationals, winning the first slot, 3-0. Other winners for the Rams included Hayes (#2, 3-0), Ben Ehrman (#4, 3-0), McFarland (#5, 3-0), Sebastian Cahill (#6, 3-0), Cinquino (#7, 3-2), Ryan Dalton (#8, 3-0) and Lewis (#9, 3-0).

Fordham closes out the season with a 3-12 record.
