Bronx, N.Y. – (February 18, 2025) - The Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches has announced the men's All-Academic Awards for the 2025 season, honoring 17 Fordham student-athletes with at least a 3.2 GPA or higher. As a team, Fordham ranked in the top five nationally in team GPA.
Fordham, which ranked fifth in the final national polls after making the national semifinals for the second straight year, is the lone water polo team to rank in the top five nationally in both athletic accomplishment and academic success.
To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete's head coach must be a member of the ACWPC, while the student-athlete must attain a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 or higher. Divided into three designations based on cumulative grade point average (GPA), student-athletes can garner Outstanding (4.00-3.71), Superior (3.70-3.41) or Excellent (3.40-3.20) recognition.
In total, over 700 student-athletes were recognized.

Csongor Bartuszek,
Balazs Berenyi,
Charlie Martin,
Kristof Magony,
Gianni Farrugia,
Luca Provenziani,
Mark Dyck, and
Sean O'Neill earned "Outstanding" status, while two Rams,
Andras Toth and
Soren Jessen garnered "Superior" status. Seven others,
Brendan Cassidy,
Marco Napolitano,
Reid Thorson,
Kyle Thomas, and
Diego Tresa earned "Excellent" status.
Further, a total of 45 schools, including Fordham posted Team Honors for achieving team GPAs over 3.0. The Rams ranked fifth in the nation in team GPA at 3.61, trailing only Johns Hopkins (3.76), Brown (3.73), MIT (3.70), and Princeton (3.63).
