Bronx, N.Y. – (January 31, 2026) – The final day of January saw the Fordham squash team pick up a pair of victories at the Lombardi Squash Courts on Saturday, defeating Penn Club, 7-2, and Cornell Club, 8-1.
With the two wins, Fordham improved to 12-4 on the season.
MATCH 1 – Fordham 7, Penn Club 2
- The Rams were paced at the top spot with a win by Nicholas Gilman, defeating Eric Zhang in three games, 11-6, 11-9, and 12-10, while Adam Sakr topped Jack Krieble at third position, 11-8, 11-7, and 11-6.
- Tyler Christensen continued to add to the Fordham wins at fourth position with a four-game victory over A.J. Wilkinson, 11-6, 7-11, 12-10, and 11-9, with Drew Fones posting a fifth slot win over Austin Zhuang, 11-5, 11-3, 8-11, 11-4.
- Fredrik Schreiber-Wacnik (6th), Nathan Martinez (7th), and Charlie Friedman (8th) rounded out the team points with wins in three games, four games, and three games, respectively.
MATCH 2 – Fordham 8, Cornell Club 1
- Leading 1-0 courtesy of a defaulted ninth slot match, Christensen had the best win, topping Quang Nguyen at second position, 14-12, 11-2, and 11-5, while Fones downed Nikhil Dhakad at third position, 11-4, 11-3, and 11-6.
- Schreiber-Wacnik upended Aneesh Naresh at the fourth slot, 11-6, 11-1 and 11-4, with Martinez earning a three-game win over Hadi Sumaida, 11-9, 11-5, and 11-7, at fifth position.
- Friedman (6th), Joe Walsh (7th), and Anthony Mamdouh Zareh (8th) also picked up three-game wins for Fordham.
