PENNSAUKEN, N.J.  – The Fordham rowing team competed in the Dad Vail Regatta, one of the sport's most highly touted events, over the past two days on the Cooper River.
 
After finishing third in its Friday semifinal (6:58.07) to qualify for this morning's grand final, the Varsity 8+ placed sixth in the race for The Evelyn Bergman Trophy, clocking a time of 6:55.66.
 
After finishing fourth in its time trial, the Second Varsity 8 also qualified for a Saturday grand final, The Coleman D. Boyle Trophy.  The Rams narrowly missed the medal stand, placing fourth in a time of 7:00.77, just two seconds behind Temple in third.
 
The Third Varsity 8+ finished fourth in its time trial (7:53.07) before capturing bronze with a time of 7:38.60 in its Saturday grand final.
 
After completing its Friday time trial in 8:20.17, the Varsity 4+ finished first in its Saturday final, crossing the line in 8:17.36 to edge out La Salle.
 
The Varsity 2- won its Saturday petite final, finishing in a time of 9:09.75 to beat out Lafayette by just under two seconds.
 
The Novice 4+ finished fourth in its Saturday final, completing the course in 9:11.80, less than half a second behind Pitt in third.
