Glasboro, N.J. – (April 12, 2025) – Battling through tough weather conditions, the Fordham track & field team took part in the Oscar Moore Invitational, hosted by Rowan University in Glasboro, N.J.
The Rams' performance was led by
Alexandra Williams, who won the women's 400-meter dash event in 58.14 seconds, while later taking second in the women's 200-meter dash in 25.40 seconds. She was joined in the top ten in the 400-meter dash by
Riley Carroll in tenth overall at 1:04.63 and in the 200-meter dash by
Anna Maria Ivits in eighth at 27.26 seconds.
The next best finish for the women came in the 400-meter hurdles, as
Nicole Lytle was third overall in 1:06.67 with
Ileana Chlorou taking fourth in the 100-meter dash at 12.94 seconds.
Kylie Ritz posted a season-best time of 12.56 seconds in the 100-meter dash, but did not compete in the final.
The remaining track events for the women were the 800- and 1,500-meter runs.
Kate Meeks was the top Ram in the 1,500 meters in 11
th place at 4:59.25, while
Lauren Raimy had the top time in the 800 meters at 2:21.04, good for 14
th overall.
Due to safety conditions, a few of the field events were canceled, but
Ashley Holbrook did compete in the women's shot put, taking 18
th at 30' 3", while
George Pomer took part in the men's edition of the shot put (12
th - 31' 10"), the discus throw (22
nd – 85' 10"), and the high jump (14th - 5' 11 1/2").
In the men's track events, Fordham's
Matthew Nurse had a pair of fourth place finishes in the 200 meters at 22.44 seconds and the 400 meters at 49.82 seconds. Nurse was joined in the top five in the 200 meters by
Liam Volz, who grabbed fifth in 22.46 seconds, after taking tenth in the 100-meter dash at 11.00 seconds.
Nelson Lindsay also had a fifth-place finish in the 400-meter dash in 49.87 seconds.
The remaining track events for the men were the 800- and 1500-meter runs.
Darren Croke was the top Ram in the 800 meters in 14
th place at 1:58.18, while
Matthew Febles grabbed sixth in the 1,500 meters at 4:10.48.
Fordham will be in split locations next weekend with the Rams competing at the Virginia Challenge, April 18-19, in Charlottesville, Virginia, and the Rutgers Relays on April 19
th in Piscataway, N.J.
