PHILADELPHIA – The Fordham rowing team opened its spring season on Saturday, competing in the Jesuit Invitational hosted by Saint Joseph's on the Schuylkill River.
 
Five Fordham boats competed in the program's season debut, which featured four other Jesuit institutions from the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic.
 
The Varsity 4+ provided the day's highlight, claiming first place in a time 8:37.1, 20 full seconds ahead of Holy Cross in second.
 
The Second Varsity 4+ recorded the Rams' second-best finish of the day, coming in second in its final with a time of 8:43.2. 
 
The Varsity 8+ placed fifth, crossing the line in 8:01.1.
 
The Second Varsity 8+ finished third with a time of 8:22.0 while the Third Varsity 8+ placed sixth in 9:09.2.
