Softball Quartet Earns CSC Academic All-District Honors

Holly Beeman, Michaela Carter, Devon Miller, and Kate McGuire were selected from Fordham

BRONX, N.Y. – Being honored for the efforts both on the field and in the classroom Tuesday afternoon, four members of the Fordham University Softball team were tabbed as Academic All-District Honorees by the College Sports Communicators (CSC).

The CSC's annual recognition of the top student-athletes in the country saw a pair of Fordham pitchers named to the 2024 All-District Team, including Holly Beeman and Devon Miller, in addition to a pair of key position players in Michaela Carter and Kate McGuire.

Picking up 10 victories in the circle in 2024, Holly Beeman tallied 133.0 innings pitched for her side last season, tossing 12 complete games in 27 total appearances, including 19 starts. She would record 55 strikeouts while giving up just 34 walks, averaging just 1.79 walks per seven innings to lead all Atlantic 10 pitchers in that category.

Starting and appearing in all but two games this season, Carter would tally the third most hits of any Rams with 42 on the season, while also coming around to score 22 times. Driving in 14 RBI's she would draw 24 walks, second most on the team, finishing with the second best on-base percentage on the squad at .410.

Miller would pace the Rams in the pitching circle after earning 11 wins in 30 appearances in 2024. Tossing 14 complete games and 149.2 innings, she would record 131 strikeouts, becoming just the third player in program history to tally 500 strikeouts in a career.

A .299 hitter for the Rams in 2024, McGuire would scatter the fourth-most hits of any player with 41 on the year while also coming around to score 30 runs, second most on the team. McGuire would also draw 20 walks on the year, while driving in nine RBI's, and stole three bases on as many attempts.

The Rams would wrap the 2024 season with 25 wins, and ranked fifth in the nation for doubles as a team, tallying 91 on the year, the third most in a single season in program history.
