Fordham Seats Revamped Athletics Hall of Fame Committee

Committee will select the Hall’s next class in 2025

BRONX, N.Y. (May 16, 2024) – Fordham Athletic Director Ed Kull has announced the formation of a new-look Athletic Hall of Fame Committee, which will select the institution's next class of distinguished athletes, coaches and contributors. The induction ceremony will take place in October of 2025 in conjunction with the University's homecoming weekend.

"The tradition and history of Fordham Athletics is second to none. I believe one of the most important things we do as a department is honor those outstanding Rams that have come before us," said Kull. "I am looking forward to working with this new committee in selecting our next Hall of Fame class. I'd like to thank all of our outgoing members for their years of dedicated service and applaud our incoming members for taking on this noteworthy challenge."

Alumni and supporters of Fordham Athletics are encouraged to nominate individuals who they believe are deserving of consideration for the Hall of Fame.  To be considered, a former Fordham athlete must be at least 10 years removed from the conclusion of their collegiate career and have earned a minimum of two varsity letters at Rose Hill.  To nominate an individual, please fill out this form.

In addition, Fordham has announced the creation of two new awards to further showcase the University's proud history.

Borrowing its name from the Fordham's fight song, The Maroon Legacy Award will be given out for the first time in 2025 and will highlight the accomplishments of one outstanding Fordham team of yesteryear whose intercollegiate achievements helped further the University's mission.  The Maroon Legacy Award may recognize a varsity team from any era of Fordham's proud history and there are no minimum concrete criteria that must be met for a team to be considered.

The Bob Ahrens Award will recognize the career of a Fordham alumnus who has excelled in the field of broadcasting or print journalism.  It is named after WFUV's longtime executive producer, who mentored countless young professionals across his two decades at the radio station and helped propel WFUV's coverage of all Tri-State Area professional teams.
