Gambier, Ohio. – (February 4, 2024) – The Fordham squash team finished action at the Denison Round Robin in Gambier, Ohio, on Sunday with an 8-1 win over Michigan. The win moves Fordham to 18-7 on the season.
The Rams got out to a 5-0 lead through the first wave of matches in the odd number slots.
Nicholas Gilman picked up a first position win over Anourg Shah in four games, 7-11, 11-8, 11-3, and 11-7, while
Henry Frawley won at the third slot over Gaurav Shekhawat in four games, 11-8, 11-5, 4-11, and 11-7.
Next it was
Peter Vorbach defeating Jesse Scheri at fifth position in four games, 11-7, 11-8, 9-11, and 11-7, followed by
Gray Kearns (7
th) and Crispin McCarty (9
th) taking their matches in three-game sweeps.
Fordham closed out the match with wins at the fourth, sixth, and eighth slots by
Jack Stanley,
Robert Cruikshank, and
Sofia Arseniev. Stanley and Arseniev won in three games, while it was a four-game match for Stanley.
The Rams now ready themselves for the CSA Team Championship, February 15-18, in Philadelphia, Pa.
