Annapolis, Md. – (November 10, 2024) – The Fordham squash team spent the weekend in Annapolis, Maryland, at the Navy Round Robin, posting a 2-2 mark and moving to 7-2 on the season.
On Saturday, the Rams started off with a clean sweep of the Bucknell Bison, winning the match, 9-0. All nine matches were won by Fordham in three games.
Nicholas Gilman led the way at first position with an 11-8, 11-4, 12-10 win over Cooper Pearce, followed by Bennett van Liew taking his second slot match from Natty Dunn, 11-4, 11-4, and 11-2.
Jack Stanley came up with a third slot win over Linus Maurer (11-6, 11-5, 11-7), while
Peter Vorbach defeated Will Vincent at fourth position (11-8, 11-7, 11-1).

Nathan Martinez (8
th), and
Joe Walsh (9
th) also earned wins over Bucknell.
In match two, Fordham took down Georgetown by a 7-2 score.
Gilman picked up his second win of day over William Cunnion in four games, 11-3, 12-10, 7-11, and 11-7, as did Vorbach, taking down Teddy Donohue in five games, 11-7, 8-11, 8-11, 11-5, and 11-7.
Sakr and Walsh each earned three-game sweep wins at fifth (John Zhang – 11-7, 11-6, 11-6) and ninth (Deep Ghosh – 12-10, 11-5, 11-9) positions respectively with Friedman (Caleb Chong – 10-12, 11-9, 11-4, 11-5) and Martinez (Sam Subramanian – 12-10, 6-11, 11-9, 11-4) earning four-game wins at the seventh and eighth slots.
Cruikshank recorded the final win over Georgetown, outlasting Shiraz Awan at sixth position in five games, 7-11, 11-5, 9-11, 12-10, and 11-4.
In the final match on Saturday, the Rams fell to host Navy, 9-0.
All nine matches were three-game wins for the Midshipmen with the closest match at the fourth slot, as Vorbach fell to Lucas Spiro, 11-5, 11-8, and 11-4.
On Sunday, Fordham was shut out by MIT, 9-0.
Eight of the nine matches were three-game losses with the lone match going four was at fifth position with Skar getting tripped up by Mitav Nayak, 3-11, 11-4, 11-9, and 11-4.
Fordham is back in action on November 23-24 for a home weekend, where the team has four matches scheduled against Penn Club, Cornell Club, Connecticut College, and Wesleyan.
