BRONX, N.Y. – The Fordham rowing team opened its 2024-25 season on Sunday, competing in the Head of the Housatonic at Indian Wells State Park.
In the Women's Cup race, the Varsity 8+ finished sixth in a time of 15:29.2, three spots ahead of the Second Varsity 8+ in a time of 15:51.7. The Third Varsity 8+ crossed the finish line in 16:29.9, good for 12th in the 13-team field.
The Rams' best finishes of the day came in the women's open 4+, as the Second Varsity 4+ finished second in a time of 16:52.5, less than one second ahead of Sacred Heart in third. The Fourth Varsity 4+ finished fifth in 17:20.9 while the Rams' other two four-person boats came in 10th and 15th.
In the Rams' final race of the day, the 2-, Catherine Schmidt Palumbo and Alyssa Neducsin crossed the line in 20:49.9 to finish third.
