Bronx, N.Y. – (January 18, 2024) – In the team's first action of the new semester, the Fordham squash team took on the Brown Bears club team at the Lombardi Squash Courts on Thursday, coming out on the short end by a 9-0 score.
The loss snapped Fordham's eight-match win streak, as the Rams are now 11-5 on the season.
Eight of the ninth individual matches were 3-0 Brown victories, except at the third slot, where's Fordham's
Jack Stanley pushed the match to a fourth game, falling to Dawson Lin, 3-1, by scores of 11-5, 11-2, 11-13, and 11-8.
Fordham's
Crispin McCarthy and
Gray Kearns almost pushed their seventh and sixth position matches beyond three games. Kearns dropped his sixth slot match to Rachel Mashek, 11-0, 12-10, and 11-7, while McCarthy fell to Raphael Benamran, 11-4, 12-10, and 11-3.
The Rams have a chance to get back on the winning track on Friday afternoon with a match against Connecticut College, starting at 2:00 PM, in the Lombardi Squash Courts.
