Cross Country Back in Action at Paul Short Run

Men’s Race Gets Event Started at 11:00 AM on Saturday with Women Following at 11:45 AM

Bronx, N.Y. – (September 29, 2023) – After a week away from competition, the Fordham cross country teams are back in action on Saturday morning at the Paul Short Run in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, hosted on the campus of Lehigh University.
 
The meet will consist of a five-mile (8K) race for the men at 11:00 AM with a 6K race for the women at 11:45 AM.  Live results for the meet can be found on LeoneTiming.com.
 
Fordham is slated to compete in the Gold Division races, which will have 47 men's teams and 45 women's teams.  The Rams will have 10 runners on the men's side and 11 in the women's race. 
 
The Rams were last at the Paul Short Run in 2017 and 2018.  In 2018, the Fordham women placed 16th out of 41 teams, while the men were 27th
 
The 2017 edition of the Paul Short Run had Fordham finish 28th out of 40 teams in the men's competition and 31st out of 42 teams for the women.  It was also notable for Fordham runner Thomas Slattery, who set the school record for a five-mile race at 24:08, which still stands today.
 
This will be the final tune-up race for the championship part of Fordham's schedule in October with the Metropolitan Championship (Oct. 7), the ECAC/IC4A Championship (Oct. 13), and the Atlantic 10 Championship (Oct. 28).
