Stony Brook, N.Y. – (September 2, 2023) – The Fordham cross country team kicked off its 2023 season on Saturday morning at Stony Brook XC Invitational.
For the men, the Rams only had four runners in the field and were unable to post a team score.
Individually,
Steven Zucca was the Rams' top finisher over the 6K course in 11
th place with a time of 19:12.10, while
Colin Flood took 22
nd overall in 19:34.80.
Darren Croke was the next Ram across the line in 39
th at 20:37.30 with
Anderson Baker rounding out the group in 56
th at 22:46.60.
On the women's side, the Fordham women placed fourth in the team standings. Quinnipiac was first with 33 points, followed by Stony Brook (48), Columbia (50), Fordham (141), Wagner (141), St. John's (151), and LIU (179).
Stony Brook's Grace Weigele set the pace for the field over the 4K course with a winning time of 13:58.90.
Among Fordham runners,
Caitrina Barton was the top finisher in 25
th place at 15:05.70, followed by
Mary Kathryn Underwood (36
th – 15:25.70),
Alexandra Thomas (40
th – 15:32.80),
Marin Bogulski (43
rd – 15:37.60),
Caroline McDonagh (46
th – 15:39.80), and
Madeleine Ryan (47

The Rams will be back in action on Saturday, September 9
th, when the team hosts the Fordham Fiasco at Van Cortlandt Park with first race set for 10:00 AM.
