NFCA Release
Louisville, Ky. – For the second straight year, nine Fordham softball student-athletes earned a spot on the Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete list –
Holly Beeman,
Amanda Carey,
Eva Koratsis,
Julia Martine,
Kate McGuire,
Mary Grace O'Neill,
Julia Petrovich,
Nicki Sudall, and
Sarah Taffet. This ties for the third-most selections in program history.
A total of 8,297 collegiate student-athletes who had a 3.5 GPA or higher across all levels were named to the 2022-2023 list. Division I accounted for 2,155 players.
Last year nine Rams were named to the Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete list while in 2020-21 the Rams had 13 student-athletes make the list. No list was compiled for 2019-20 due to COVID while in 2018-19 the Rams again had nine representatives. For Martine it's the fourth consecutive honor while Taffet picks up her third straight, and O'Neill and Petrovich their second.
That now brings the total number of Rams to earn All-America Scholar-Athlete to 40 in four years (around the 2020 year) under head coach
Melissa Inouye. That is more than the five years prior (26) since the NFCA created the award in 2013-14.
For the team GPA, Fordham's average of 3.525 was 74th best in the nation, fourth best in the Atlantic 10.
