BRONX, N.Y. – The Fordham men's golf team has been recognized for its exceptional performance in the classroom, earning Presidents Special Recognition from the Golf Coaches Association of America.
The Rams were one of 54 Division I teams nationwide to earn the honor, which was bestowed to squads with a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher. Fordham was one of only four teams in the Atlantic 10 to garner this prestigious recognition.
Fordham recently completed its first season under the direction of Head Coach
Gary Murphy, who joined the Rams this winter. Boasting more than three decades as a club professional, Murphy led Fordham to a number of stellar finishes, including a second-place showing at the Monmouth Hawk Invitational.
Nicholas Manning earned Atlantic 10 Golfer of the Week honors after his three-under 68 was good enough for second in the field at that event.
