Richmond, Va. – Despite weather delays, the Fordham women's tennis squad got its Richmond trip off to a good start, defeating the University of Richmond, 4-2, at the Westhampton Tennis Complex.
 
"Great team effort today," said Fordham head coach Michael Sowter. "We started well in doubles and continued that momentum into singles. Happy to get the win in a feisty conference matchup."
 
The match opened with Fordham winning the doubles point, winning both completed matches, and then the Rams clinched the win by taking three of the first four completed singles matches.
