CHERRY HILL, N.J. – After seeing five boats advance to their respective Sunday grand finals, the Fordham rowing team wrapped action at the Knecht Cup on the Cooper River.  
 
Fordham's first event of the day came in the Freshman/Novice 4, as Alex Zaneski (4), Elizabeth Weldon (3), Bailey Scherdorf (2), Logan Gray (1) and Celeste Batres (coxswain) placed second in their grand final, finishing just 2.69 seconds behind Monmouth A and more than 12 seconds clear of Delaware in third.
 
A half hour later, the Rams' Second Varsity 4 lineup of Fiona Eves (4), Aya Hubbard-Cree (3), Nicole Simbana (2), Nicolette Giamarusti (1) Sophie Davis (coxswain) clocked a time of 8:26.38, good enough for fifth in the grand final.
 
The Third Varsity 8 boat also crossed the line in fifth with a time of 8:01.10.  Third Varsity 8 lineup: Abigail Butler (8), Taylor Bell (7), Nicole Simbana (6), Arianna Psareas (5), Seneca Farhy (4), Celeste Batres (3), Hannah Tovey (2), Liv Pacitti (1), with Olivia Evangelista at coxswain.
 
The Fordham Second Varsity 8 scull placed fourth in Sunday's grand final, but just seconds off the winning pace.  The lineup of Jamie Forbes (8), Lila Evans (7), Lauren Yu (6), Brooke Gould (5), Bailey Scherdorf (4), Eliza Collins (3), Tiernan Degnan (2), Anna Hinck (1) and Alena Bujnowski (coxswain) finished 0.47 seconds behind Drexel in third and only 3.79 seconds behind first-place Delaware.
 
Fordham wrapped the day with a sixth-place showing in the Varsity 8 grand final.

The Fordham rowing team will return to action next Saturday at the Spring Metropolitan Championships at Glen Island.
