Philadelphia, Pa. – The Fordham women's crew traveled down to Philadelphia on Saturday to compete in the Temple Invitational on the Schuylkill River where all four boats enjoyed a level of success.
 
In the morning, the Rams faced off against LaSalle and Monmouth, sweeping the NCAA events of Varsity 8, 2nd Varsity 8 and Varsity 4.  The 2nd Varsity 4 raced hard as well pulling in a strong third.
 
In the afternoon round, Fordham faced off against Navy, Temple and Monmouth.  The Varsity 8 and 2nd Varsity 8 had strong first 1250s, leading the four boat race. In both races Navy was able to power through the Rams for the win, but the Rams finished a strong second and third, respectively, in the Varsity 8 and 2ns Varsity 8.  In the Varsity 8, Fordham was able to hold off a couple of challenges from Temple for the second place finish. 
 
"We are really proud of our racing today and we learned a lot about ourselves and what we are capable of," said head coach Gerry Quinlan. "This was an invaluable day of racing as we train towards the A-10 Championship in May.  We are learning a lot about racing and tactics as well as boat feel."
 
What's Next?
The Rams return to action on Saturday, April 4, as they host the Ram Invitational at Overpeck Park in Leonia, N.J.
