New York - The Fordham women's tennis squad ventured into Manhattan on Friday where they fell to Columbia University, 4-0, at the Columbia Tennis Center.
"Great fight from the Fordham team today, the match was much closer than the score indicates," said Fordham head coach
Michael Sowter. "Columbia started out very strong but I'm extremely pleased with the way we fought back to take the second set on courts #1 and #3 as well as leading in the second set on courts #2 and #5. This is one of several nationally ranked programs we have on the schedule this spring and we will use this as a stepping stone for our upcoming matches."
The match opened with Columbia winning the doubles point, winning both completed matches, and then the Lions clinched the win
