OCEAN VIEW, N.J. – The Fordham golf team finished strong at the South Jersey Kick-Off on Sunday, turning in the day's fourth best team score to finish in sixth place at the tournament hosted by Iona.

La Salle took home the team title with a cumulative score of 40-over. Iona's Gonzalo Arcelay garnered medalist honors at five over.

For the second straight day,
P.J. O'Rourke and
Chris Konefal turned in identical scores. Their pair of 74s marked a 10-shot improvement over the opening 18 holes, which were plagued by horrific weather conditions. O'Rourke and Konefal finished the 36-hole tournament in a tie for 17
th place.Â

Andreas Aivazoglou finished in a tie for 31
st after a second-round 81.Â

Sophomore
Mashu Nishi enjoyed a dramatic turnaround on the tournament's second day, improving by 16 strokes with a four-over 76.Â
Jake Mrva, who also finished in a tie for 38th alongside Nishi, carded a final-round 79.

Nicholas Manning and
Charles Smollen both claimed a share of 44th place on the individual leaderboard.

The Rams are scheduled to return to action on April 4 in Colts Neck, N.J., at the Monmouth One-Day.
