Easton, Pa. - Behind a dominant four-under day to open the ABARTA Coca-Cola Collegiate Invitational, Fordham University Golf's Liam Howard leads the 98-player field after opening round action Sunday afternoon.
Howard's -4, 68 on the day is the best individual round of the sophomore's career, giving him a two-stroke lead over a five-way tie for second place heading into final round action Monday, with just 11 players scoring in red figures on Sunday.Â
Fordham as a team finished the opening 18-holes tied for fourth in the 16-team field, while second on the individual leaderboard for the Maroon and White was Luke Brower who carded a three-over opening round score to sit tied for 32nd in the field.Â
That score was one shot ahead of a trio of Rams in Keiran Cummins, Anthony DePaolo, Tucker Silva, the latter who competed as an individual, finishing Sunday at four over par in a tie for 38th. Patrick Ginnity rounded out the scoring for the Rams at nine over par in a tie for 81st.
Final round action kicks off Monday morning from Northampton Country Club in Pennsylvania.
