New Haven, Conn. – The Fordham women's tennis squad came oh-so-close to knocking off a nationally ranked team, falling 4-3 to #57 Yale University at the Cullman-Heyman Tennis Center.
"This one stings," said Fordham head coach
Michael Sowter. "We won the doubles point and competed toe-to-toe with one of the best teams in the country but just came up short. Credit to Yale for playing the important singles points well, this was a great battle as we prepare for another nationally ranked program in Brown tomorrow."
The Rams opened play by taking the doubles point, and then won at first and fourth singles for the three points.
