Squash Nets Three Wins on Saturday

Rams Post Victories over NYU, Yale Club, & Colgate

Bronx, N.Y. – (December 2, 2023) – The Fordham squash team got this weekend's action off to a great start, posting three victories on Saturday at the Lombardi Squash Courts.
 
The victories extend Fordham's win streak to six games and improves the team's overall record to 9-4.
 
The Rams opened Saturday's action with a 7-2 win over NYU.
 
Fordham earned wins from the third through ninth position for the team victory.  Jack Stanley started the string of wins at third position with a three-game win over Aryan Sehrawat, 11-7, 11-6, and 11-5, while Peter Vorbach had a three-game win at fourth position over Harsh Tambi, 11-3, 11-3, and 11-0.
 
The Rams finished the remainder of the match with five more three-game sweeps by Robert Cruikshank (5th), Gray Kearns (6th), Sofia Arseniev (7th), Crispin McCarthy (8th), and Nicholas Choo (9th).
 
In match two, Fordham downed Yale Club, 8-1.
 
Playing without Bennett Van Liew who had to retire in the Rams' first match, Fordham's order slid up a spot, where Stanley won his second match of the day over Jeffrey Tan at second position, 9-11, 11-9, 11-9, and 12-10.  Vorbach won at third position over William Brawell, 11-5, 11-1, and 11-3 with Cruikshank taking the fourth slot match over Jayden Rivera, 11-8, 11-4, and 11-8.
 
Kearns (5th), Arseniev (6th), McCarthy (7th), and Choo (8th) each recorded their second win of the day with three-game wins over their Yale Club adversaries.  Edwin Hess had the final Fordham win at ninth position over Ryan Viores, 11-13, 11-2, 11-7, and 12-10.
 
The final match on Saturday saw Fordham take down Colgate by a 9-0 count.
 
Leading 1-0 courtesy of a default win at the ninth slot, Fordham posted three-game sweeps in the remaining eight matches, highlighted by a first position win by Henry Frawley over Ryan Park, 11-6, 11-0, and 11-4.
 
The home weekend for Fordham concludes on Sunday, December 3rd, with matches against Connecticut at 11:30 AM and Bard at 1:30 PM.
