Bronx, N.Y. – (November 17, 2023) – The Fordham squash team is set for their first home weekend of matches, as the Rams will play three times at the Lombardi Center Squash Courts.
Fordham hosts Princeton Club on Saturday morning at 11:00 AM, while Sunday features match-ups with Cornell Club at 9:00 AM and George Washington Club at 12:30 PM.
The Rams are coming off a successful weekend at the Navy Round Robin, posting a 3-2 record in five matches, which puts the team's overall record at 3-4. Individually,
Gray Kearns posted a 3-1 record in his four matches, while
Robert Cruikshank and
Peter Vorbach each went 3-2 in their respective matches.
On Saturday, Fordham faces Princeton's Club Team for the first time. It has been some time since the last match against any team from Princeton, as the Rams last played the Princeton varsity squad in the 1980s.
The Rams have more recent matches against their Sunday opponents, as Fordham has played Cornell's club team each of the past two seasons. The Big Red took a 7-2 decision during the 2021-22 season, while last year, Fordham won by a 6-3 count to kick off the season. Fordham also defeated George Washington last season by a 7-2 score.
