Bronx, N.Y. – (January 29, 2023) – The Fordham squash team concluded its home weekend with a pair of matches against Dartmouth Club at the Lombardi Squash Courts, earning 9-0 victories in both matches.
Both matches started with Fordham holding a 2-0 lead, due to Dartmouth Club having only seven players.
The lineup for the Rams in both matches began with
Henry Frawley defeating Rashad Brown-Mitchell at first position. In match one, he posted an 11-4, 11-3, 11-4 win, while the second match saw winning scores of 11-9, 11-3, and 11-7.
In the second slot, it was
Bennett Van Liew defeating Peter McKenna in both matches. Each match went four games with scores of 11-5, 11-9, 9-11, 11-6 in match one and 7-11, 11-6, 11-5, 11-3 in match two.
Jack Stanley was Fordham's third slot player, defeating Zimo Tang twice by scores of 11-1, 11-7, 11-0 and 11-3, 11-3, 11-2.
Then it was
Sofia Arseniev with a pair of wins over Siddharth Hathi at fourth position (Match 1 – 11-0, 11-0, 11-3 ; Match 2 – 11-7, 11-5, 11-4), while
Nicholas Choo defeated Kevin Ding in fifth position twice (Match 1 – 11-6, 11-7, 11-7; Match 2 – 11-7, 11-9, 11-7).
Fordham closed out both matches with
Caleb Schumacher (6
th) and
Edwin Hess (7
th) earning two wins each over Michelle Mule (Match 1 – 11-2, 11-3, 11-3; Match 2 – 11-1, 11-4, 11-5) and Julia Gottschalk (Match 1 – 1108, 11-6, 11-6; Match 2 – 11-7, 11-7, 12-10), respectively.
The Rams are back in action on Saturday, February 11
th, when the team hosts Boston University at 2:00 PM and Drexel Club at 6:00 PM.
