Middletown, Conn./New London, Conn. – (January 21, 2023) – The Fordham squash team returned to action on Saturday, as the Rams were on the road for matches against Wesleyan and Connecticut College.
Unfortunately for the Rams, Fordham took two losses on the day, falling to Wesleyan, 9-0, and Connecticut College, 8-1.
Against Wesleyan, the Rams were swept in three games in seven of the nine matches. Only
Henry Frawley and
Robert Cruikshank were able to extend their matches to four games. Frawley fell to Toby Goldston at second position, 9-11, 11-5, 11-7, 11-7, while Cruikshank came up short at sixth position against Milo Supasorn, 7-11, 11-9, 11-6, and 11-5.
Then at Connecticut College, Fordham got on the board with a win by Cruikshank at sixth position, defeating Peter Russell in four games, 11-6, 13-11, 9-11, and 12-10.
The Rams though could not get much going otherwise, falling in three games in seven of the remaining eight matches.
Nicholas Choo extended his match at the seventh slot to four games, losing to Alex Navarro, 12-14, 11-8, 11-6, and 11-4.
Fordham will next be in action on January 28
th, when they host NYU at 10:00 AM and Bucknell at 1:30 PM.
