Newport News, Va. – Freshman outside hitter
Audrey Brown has been named the Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week, the second time she's earned the award over the first three weeks of the season. She was previously the season's first honoree.
Fordham currently leads the conference in hit percentage and is second in kills per set thanks in large part to the Birmingham, Mich. native's efforts thus far. Brown is second in the league with a .370 rate in attack (behind teammate
Aria De La Rosa) and is third with 3.34 kills per set (with
Whitley Moody leading the way with 3.91).
Brown posted back-to-back 14-kill efforts over the weekend at the UND Classic as the Rams split their two matches. Brown hit .387 over five sets in a tight loss to Montana State, adding six digs and two blocks, then posted an uber-efficient .565 on 23 attacks, to just one error, in the sweep of hosts North Dakota, adding four more digs and a block. For the weekend, she averaged 3.50 kills per set and hit .463 on 54 attempts.
Brown becomes the fifth Ram to earn multiple Rookie of the Week awards and first since Moody in Spring 2021.
