Pittsburgh, Pa. – The Fordham volleyball squad closed out its two-game series at Duquesne on Saturday with a 3-1 loss to the Dukes at the UPMC Fieldhouse.

With the loss, Fordham falls to 6-9 overall, 0-2 in the Atlantic 10 while Duquesne improves to 11-2 overall, 2-0 in the conference.

Duquesne took the first two sets, 25-16 and 25-15 before Fordham managed a 26-24 win in set three. But the Dukes repaid the Rams in set four, winning it 26-24 to take the match.

Johanna Franzen led the Fordham attack with 12 kills to go with nine digs, while junior
Sophia Kuyn added eleven kills and three blocks.

The Rams continue their Atlantic 10 schedule by returning to the Bronx to host the University of Dayton Flyers on Friday, October 2 (5:00 p.m.), and Saturday, October 3 (12:00 p.m.) in the Rose Hill Gym.
