Pittsburgh, Pa. – The Fordham women's volleyball team opened Atlantic 10 play tonight at Duquesne, falling to the Dukes, 3-2, at the UPMC Cooper Fieldhouse.
With the loss, Fordham falls to 6-8 while Duquesne improves to 10-2.
Fordham took the first set , 25-20, but the Dukes evened things with a 25-17 win in set two. The Rams won set three, 25-23, before Duquesne again knotted the match at two with a 25-12 win in set four. The match came down to the fifth set which the Dukes took, 15-6.
Junior
Mila Micunovic and freshman
Johanna Franzen each recorded double digit kill totals with Micunovic finishing with 13 and Franzen ten. Micunovic added five blocks while Franzen had ten digs, three blocks and two service aces.
Freshman
Giada Ianuale dished out 42 assists in the match while junior Özge Özaslan led Fordham with 18 digs.
